Goals
The main goal of the teaching-learning activities of the SMU
Lokon is to prepare students to continue their education at
quality higher education institutes in-country and overseas.
In order to follow a course of study which needs not only a
high school diploma, but also intellectual knowledge, strong
personality and a mature attitude. So the Intelligence Quotient
(IQ) must be balanced with the emotional quotient (EQ).
Each student needs to strive to develop all their intellectual
abilities, talents and skills through involvement in school
activities. Only through involvement in school activities,
students will have the bigger possibility to develop as a whole
including intelligence and attitude.
Several things worth noting
- Students are expected to demonstrate
strong will and effort in order to direct their studies
and their sense of responsibility
to grasp knowledge, according to each one’s talents.
- Students are expected to follow studies attentively,
observe with full attention, maintain order in the classroom
so that
they can gain maximum benefits from lessons being given
by the teachers.
- Homework is a very valuable practice. Therefore, students
must do their homework well and attend to mistakes that
have been made after their homework has been examined
by the teachers.
- Good, regular study habits will prepare students for
unexpected tests.
- When the students are at home, it is expected that
parents/guardians will always motivate and encourage
students to study seriously.
- Quarterly reports must be signed by parents/guardians
and must be returned as soon as possible to the office
or the class
tutor.
- For the sake of the care and progress of students,
it is expected that a healthy co-operation between the
parents/guardians
and school will be fostered, especially when students
are not making satisfactory progress in certain subjects.
